I receive several questions about the Indy Racing Experience, especially about our new daily operation in the Orlando area at the Walt Disney World® Speedway.  I've answered many of those below, but if you still have a question, please do not hesitate to call me.

What is the Indy Racing Experience?
The Indy Racing Experience is the ultimate experience for race fans and car enthusiasts. Located in Indianapolis, but operating nationwide and at the Walt Disney World® Speedway, the Indy Racing Experience offers fans the opportunity to both ride and drive in an actual IZOD IndyCar Series car.

Where does the Indy Racing Experience operate?
The Indy Racing Experience is open daily at the Walt Disney World® Speedway, located just outside the Magic Kingdom® Park in the Orlando area.  We also operate close to 20 days at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from May to October, and everywhere the IZOD IndyCar Series competes with the exception of Motegi, Japan.

What time does the Indy Racing Experience operate?
The Indy Racing Experience is open at the Walt Disney World® Speedway, located just outside the Magic Kingdom® Park in the Orlando area, everyday beginning at 4 p.m. ET.  We will offer both the Ride and Drive experiences until sundown. Each participant will need to arrive by 3 p.m. ET for the registration process and classroom session.  Times vary when the Indy Racing Experience operates at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and other IZOD IndyCar Series tracks.  Please consult the schedule page for exact dates and times.

How do you purchase an Indy Racing Experience Ride or Drive?
Each Indy Racing Experience customer can make a reservation by calling toll free at (888) 357-5002, or by making a reservation online at www.indyracingexperience.com. Patrons visiting the Orlando area are also encouraged to stop by the Walt Disney World® Speedway as walk-ups are welcome.

Are gift certificates available?
Gift certificates are available for both the Ride and Drive experiences. You may purchase by calling toll free at (888) 357-5002 or through the Indy Racing Experience website.

Do Indy Racing Experience gift certificates expire?
The Indy Racing Experience will honor any certificate at any time, regardless of when it was issued.

When visiting the Orlando area, where do you find the Indy Racing Experience at the Walt Disney World® Speedway?
Upon entering Walt Disney World® proceed toward the Magic Kingdom® Park.  The Walt Disney World® Speedway will be on the left just beyond the Magic Kingdom® parking lot toll plaza.  Follow signs to the Richard Petty Driving Experience and drive through the tunnel to the infield.  You can also find us at the Ticket and Transportation Center located at the Magic Kingdom®.  Just wait at the Richard Petty Driving Experience sign and board the Richard Petty Driving Experience shuttle, which will take you to the track and drop you off.  The Indy Racing Experience crew will greet you from there and assist you with the sign-in process.

What is the process when you arrive for the Indy Racing Experience Ride or Drive Program?
When you arrive at the Walt Disney World® Speedway you will sign the necessary waivers and then get suited up in a full fire suit, helmet, gloves, and fire shoes. Next you will go through the orientation and classroom session.  The instructors will explain how the car works and make sure the customer is comfortable both inside and outside of the car.

What would the appropriate attire be for the Indy Racing Experience Ride or Drive Program?
Dress comfortably. You may wear sandals, but please bring socks with you.

Are there any restrictions for the Indy Racing Experience Ride or Drive Program?
Each rider or driver must be 18 years of age or older, under 6’5” in height, and under 250 lbs.

Do you need prior experience for the Driving experience?
No previous experience is required to participate in the Indy Racing Experience Driving Program. We will go through step-by-step instructions with you before your experience and make sure you are not only completely prepared, but comfortable in the car as well.

Are guests welcome to attend either the Ride or Drive experience?
Absolutely! There is a special seating area for family and friends and they are all more than welcome to take as many pictures and video as desired. Children are also welcome!

Are photo opportunities available?
At the Walt Disney World® Speedway in Orlando, a picture will be taken of each participant in their fire suit next to the car after the experience. The picture will then be offered for sale in the administration building on site.  For events held at each IZOD IndyCar Series race venue and at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the post-experience picture will be available for purchase at the registration table.  Those pictures will also be posted to our website at www.indyracingexperience.com in the photo gallery section under the date the rider or driver participated.

Will the Indy Racing Experience operate in the rain?
The Indy Racing Experience does not operate either Ride or Drive experience in the rain. If we are unable to dry the track, each participant will be given the option to reschedule for the next available date that best fits their plans.

Is the Indy Racing Experience available for corporate groups?
Absolutely! The Indy Racing Experience hosts corporate outings at both the Walt Disney World® Speedway and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  We have also hosted several corporate functions at IZOD IndyCar Series tracks throughout the country.  Call to receive more details so you can plan your big event!
